Ο Κινηματογράφος Σινεάκ εγκαινιάσθηκε ημέρα Δευτέρα 4 Φεβρουαρίου 1974, με μία προβολή ταινίας που θα άρχιζε στις 20:30 το βράδυ και είχε τίτλο "Κάποτε ήταν ένας παλιάνθρωπος''. Επρόκειτο για μια ταινία του Τζέιμς Έλιοτ,η οποία είχε χαρακτηρισθεί ως παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα, καθώς ήταν να παιχτεί στο φεστιβάλ Θεσσαλονίκης το 1973 όμως αυτό δεν έγινε. Την ημέρα εκείνη κυρίαρχη θέση στην αίθουσα είχε η Κάτι Χιουράντο, πρωταγωνίστρια της ταινίας. Το Σινεάκ, μέχρι το 1983 λειτουργούσε αποκλειστικά ως παιδικός κινηματογράφος, ενώ από το 1983 και μετά, ανέβαζε έργα όλων των ειδών. Σήμερα, είναι ο μοναδικός Δημοτικός Κινηματογράφος που έχει απομείνει στον Πειραιά.
