Όταν ένα αεροπλάνο συντρίβεται στη θάλασσα, τα δελφίνια σώζουν ένα μικρό αγόρι και το μεγαλώνουν ως μέλος της οικογένειάς τους. Ζει μια ξέγνοιαστη ζωή κάτω από τα κύματα μέχρι που ένα κακό τέρας καταλαμβάνει την εξουσία στον υποθαλάσσιο κόσμο. Εξορισμένο στην ξηρά, το αγόρι βρίσκει καταφύγιο σε έναν καλοσυνάτο καπετάνιο.
